The ICARE Basic Day is dedicated to general practitioners who want to improve their exotic animal medical skills, and veterinary students that require further support in their understanding of the exotic patients.

Details

The ICARE Basic Day has been developed in response to a growing interest from general practitioners in rabbits and other exotic species. This stream has been designed to provide vets with a practical clinical approach necessary when dealing with a variety of exotic species.

The topics will be presented as a ‘Tool kit’ and a ‘How to’ guide from highly experienced national and international speakers and will cover topics such as how to achieve good diagnostic images, how to safely administer anaesthesia and analgesia and how to deal with common presentations and emergencies in rabbits, small mammals, birds, and reptiles.

The Basic day will also be a valuable resource for an update on the latest current exotic pet techniques, and reassurance on how to treat these species while at the veterinary clinic.

This stream is dedicated to general practitioners who wants to improve their exotic animal medical skills, and veterinary students that require further support in their understanding of the exotic patients.
