This Masterclass is intended for the basic to the experienced clinician. The presentation will review the most common presentations to an emergency hospital and how to treat them. Assessing the critical patient, making a therapeutic plan, and then implementing the necessary life saving steps will be reviewed. Restraint of the fractious reptile, addressing the "A,B, C's" of emergency medicine (Airway-Breathing-Circulation) and techniques for these will be covered. Emergency venipuncture, STAT evaluation of blood results, IV and IO access for fluid administration, types of fluids , blood transfusions and analgesia will all be reviewed in detail. In addition, a thorough review of emergency drugs will be discussed. Case scenarious will be presented and prognosis as well as outlook data will be presented.
